Is any modification required for installation?

No. BMS Engineering RAM TRX recovery hooks install in the factory mounting points and replace the original front tow hooks. The factory bolts are reused for installation.

What are the recovery hooks made from?

The hooks are made from A 516-55 steel. The mounting plates are 10 mm thick, while the recovery eye itself is 20 mm thick for strength during vehicle recovery.

How are the tow hooks protected against corrosion?

BMS recovery hooks have a polymer coating applied over a zinc-rich primer. With active off-road use, stones, recovery ropes, and other contact can eventually damage the finish. We recommend inspecting the coating periodically and touching it up when necessary.

How do you recover a RAM TRX if it gets stuck?

Because the RAM TRX is a heavy truck, use a recovery rope or strap with an appropriate load rating and sufficient safety margin. Attach it securely to the BMS recovery hook and, whenever possible, keep the pulling force aligned with the vehicle frame.
